OUR PILOTS WERE CONDEMNED

The court decree against the accused persons in the attempt of coup d'etat was read in the capital of the Continental Guinea Malabo during the suit yesterday. There are six Armenian pilots among the accused persons. The court condemned the captain of the Armenian airplane 24 years of freedom and other pilots 14 years of freedom. The AN-12 airplane belonged to Tiga-R organization of "Dvin" concern was nationalized by the court decree. It is said in the RA Foreign Affairs declaration: " We are completely sure our pilots have no connection with any activity against the Continental Guinea and its authorities and the court hasn't given any well-grounded proof against them."

IT WILL BE VOTED AS IT IS POINTED

The opposition seems to come back to the parliament but not for Arthur Baghdasarian's appeals of return but exclusively for taking part in the discussions on sending Armenian military forces to Iraq. We must remind the presidents of Armenia and Poland Robert Kocharian and Alexander Kvasnevski signed an agreement on the 6 of September on collaboration between two countries in the sphere of security. According to that agreement the Armenian contingent of 50 medical officers, sappers and drivers must be sent to Iraq to attach the coalition forces under the Polish command. And now the NA must submit that issue for final decision and the Armenians parliamentarians lie ahead a difficult problem.
To say the decision of sending Armenian military forces to Iraq is an extremely unpopular in Armenia it means to say nothing. The Catholicos of whole Armenians George the Second also spoke on that occasion. He said the general capital of Ejmiadzin hopped the case on sending Armenian military forces to Iraq would get a decision taking into account the anxiety of the Armenians leaving in the Arabic countries. It's natural no NA deputy would like to be responsible for reaching such unpopular decision even if someone didn't give a damn about the risk ran the Armenian military men and the Armenian Diaspora in Iraq but the same people didn't dive a damn on their own reputation.
It's rather easy for the opposition. It will take the occasion to rise among people's opinion and will hopelessly try to strive against sending our military men. The coalition is another case. It is responsible for the Government decisions and often has to take into consideration the so-called political decisions.
We must mention the case of sending Armenian military forces to Iraq has a lot of political considerations and standpoints. And more, they can outweigh the other considerations on risk which connected with sending the Armenian military forces to Iraq. The representatives of two "Dashnaktsutiun" and "Orinats erkir" parties of the ruling coalition abstain from expressing their opinion in contrast to the head of the Republican party in the Parliament Galust Sahakian who declared that not only he but the whole nation was against sending the Armenian military forces to Iraq. But it is possible the same Republicans will vote "for" not paying attention to Galust Sahakian's opinion. The parliamentary majority will vote, as ruling clique will point to it. Even if they run the risk of their images. You see, it is sometimes more convenient not to have the authority than to have it.
