THE OPPOSITION

The US ambassador John Evans seems has begun a series of meetings with the opposite parties. The ambassador's car decorated with the US flag was stopped in front of the "National Unity" office for about an hour and a half in yesterday morning. The same car was noticed in front of the office of "Republic" party.

FALSE PARALLELS

The Georgian president Sahakashvili saw a deep connection between what happened in Tbilisi a year ago and what happens in Kiev now: "What happens in the Ukraine today shows how our small country of 4,5 million population influenced on the whole world."
Here we must remember the words of our president Robert Kocharian who justifying the actions of military structures on dispersal the opposition meeting in the night from 13 to 14 April in Yerevan referred all the time that our opposition was simply inspired by the example of neighbor Georgians and didn't have any reason and public order. It is true to some extent. Perhaps a lot of representatives of our oppositions think about why what happened in Georgia and happens in the Ukraine didn't work in Armenia. Meanwhile the cases of Georgia and the Ukraine are different. Shevardnadze didn't have those force structures to keep down the nation. The opposite situation is in the Ukraine, isn't it? Leonid Kuchma who assists Yanukovich has got those force structures. But meanwhile it is difficult to persist that the majority of people assist the opposition of the Ukraine as it was in Georgia. So Sahakashvily, truth to say, has overstated persisting that the small Georgia encouraged the Ukraine to the revolution. The only similarity is that the West doesn't hide its interests using the same scenario.
Perhaps the main fault of the Armenian authority and opposition comes from here. It is clear the opposition is for Yushchenko who is also assisted by West. The authority, just the opposite, assists Yanukovich as Russia also assists him. Our authorities consider the Yushchenko's adherents as a destructive crowd, which is financed by the West. But both parts of our ruling clique are deeply deluded, as they don't understand neither the West nor Russia is able to encourage or prevent a revolution in any other country. The April demonstrations of our opposition didn't continue not for the West didn't financed our opposition in the way as it was in case of Georgia and the Ukraine. And it was not also for the reason that the Armenian authorities in contrast to the authorities of Georgia and the Ukraine resorted to force. And when our nation didn't protect its neglected rights during the last presidential elections it wasn't for its pro Russian reason. Simply our nation hasn't got any real alternative in contrast to Georgia and the Ukraine. We must simply choose the lesser of two evils. And we don't need in revolution for it.
