progress project on "educational reforms" is going to be discussed in
today's sitting of the Government. The "reforms" provide a lot of innovations
including the change of 5 point system to other, more difficult system. And the
criteria of marking will also be defined. Fore example the pupil who leave the
main school /8 year, then 9 year/ must a/ know the RA state language, b/ have
a logical way of thinking, c/ speak in a foreign language, d/ become an advanced
person who knows and appreciates the past and future of his country. The criteria
is certainly too high. In case of following them the educational level of the
most part of the oligarchs, the NA deputies, officials don't satisfy the requirements. But
it isn't spoken about it. Educational reforms are criticized very often: the optimization
has become the way of squaring accounts with the teachers by the principal, "bachelor-magistrate"
system doesn't give any new quality, the entrance "tests" become more
and more absurd. That criticism is proved in general. But the main reason of failure
of educational reforms isn't in those omissions. Unfortunately that reason was
out of the educational system. What does the child of Armenia see when he reaches
to a conscious year and goes to school? Who have succeeded in this life, are wealthy,
have authority, palaces, "Jeeps", bodyguards etc? We all know that who.
Whether the child doesn't understand from 6-7 years of his age that those people
reached to it thanks to neither the knowledge, nor education and nor the intellect.
It is even seen from the expression of their faces that their "success story"
consists of robbery, deception and servility. In this case the child doesn't;
have any stimulus, any motivation to learn / if certainly he isn't going to leave
Armenia/. So reform the education how much you want: use the 10, 20, 100 point
system instead of 5, enter in the "process of Bologna", rename all institutes
"universities" and all specialized schools call "college".
Optimize, divide or multiply. It is all the same the fact remains as a fact: the
public value of the education, knowledge is too low in Armenia. The schoolchildren
of '60-70s wished they were sailors, cosmonauts, a known actor, or a football
player. The favorite game of nowadays schoolchildren was "I'm a man of Mafia
