WILL OUR CONSTITUTIONAL REFORMS BE DISCUSSED IN PACE?

The chairman of Armenian delegation in PACE Tigran Torosian affirmed in his conversation with "Noyan Tapan" the possibility of special discussion on the duration of constitutional reforms of Armenia in the coming session of PACE. He informed that the decision for including the issue in the agenda would be taken on 25 of April. Tigran Torosian also said that initiation belonged to the member of the delegation Shavarsh Kocharian who had made some deputies of PACE "to sign under such a proposal". It is proposed in the project of the resolution which is called "The duration of constitutional amendments in Armenia" to call to the Armenian authorities and opposition to enter in the dialogue of the constitutional amendments. And it is called to the Commission of Venice in the second point to continue its participation in the process
of constitutional amendments.

THE LETTER YET

According to the Turkish sources, the Prime Minister of Turkey Rejep Tayip Erdoghan has applied to the RA President suggesting to research jointly the events happened in Osmanian Turkey in 1915. The Foreign Minister of Turkey Abdullah Giul declared about it yesterday. But the press secretary of the RA President Viktor Soghomonian said to "Azatutiun" broadcasting station that the President of our country hadn't received such a letter. The lateness of the letter was explained by the closed Armenian-Turkish border. Otherwise it would be possible to send the letter to Kars and send by air to Giumry from there. Or to take to the bottom of Ararat mountain and passing over Arax river reach to Armenia. But as these two versions aren't possible they probably have sent it to Batum and two days will pass for getting it to Armenia by the stony ways of Akhalkalak and Bogdanovka. Our authority will be oriented in that duration what to answer to the regular Turkish ruse.
It is obvious that it is a ruse and a way of pretending in front of the world. It isn't excluded that the uninformed Europeans and Americans can believe as if the Armenian-Turkish joint research can bring any positive result. It is approximately the same if Germany turned to Israel suggesting to discuss jointly what they have done with Jews in gas cameras, why have they made soup from the bones of the people? Maybe it is possible to explain by the military necessity evoked in the World War Second. But Germany haven't done in that way knowing that for becoming a civilized and progressive country it must be got free from the awful heritage left by Hitler. And every chancellor of Germany apologizes to the people of the world for the brutality of the fascists. We are sure that those chancellors feel pleasure for their apologies: they simply understand that it is one of the guarantees of their country's power.
There are things, which aren't matters of discussions. We can and must discuss with Turks everything except the crimes done by their ancestors. There can be only a demand: condemn those crimes, both you and the remain world will win from it.
