A1+ ISN'T IN THE AIR FOR THREE YEARS
We demand to publish the list of free TV Companies and to announce an open, transparent and fair competition.

WE WON'T GET UNLESS WE DEMAND

Three years have passed since the deprivation of the allocation of the frequency to broadcaster "A1+". A lot of events occurred during these three years; parliamentary and presidential elections were held, PACE took decisions about the violation of democracy, the successfully reelected President Robert Kocharian was promising from time to time the Europeans to go over again the case of the closed TV Company. And now it seems the authorities want to forget the TV Company and to leave the personnel in the street. Even the politicians of the opposition have forgotten about "A1+" which, as you remember, were organizing demonstrations and making enthusiastic speeches. But it was a pre-election period and the opposition had serious reasons for disturbance. But when the elections were over and the mood of demonstrations calmed down the politicians didn't want to use the fact of closing the "A1+" as an argument in the fight against the authorities. Today perhaps only international right protector organizations and democratic institutions remember about "A1+" publishing various reports about democracy in Armenia from time to time. But in all probability these are just for those who have ordered to close the TV Company. No strict resolution of international institutions is capable to sober our authorities, as these aren't city bureaus for them. "The city bureau is Putin who doesn't make complaints against closing the "A1+" and he himself closes TV Companies with great pleasure which don't submit to him. / Not to mention about the "Freedom House" or other right protector institutions.
On another hand the authorities can always allude to the circumstance that nobody complaints inside the country beside the personnel of "A1+". Unfortunately they will be right alluding to that fact. As we must protect the freedom of the speech and not the PACE and the U.S. State Secretariat. And just we the citizens of this country, journalists, politicians, TV viewers must demand justice in case of "A1+". Until we do it the authorities will do what they want.
