ARF DEFENDS ARAM KARAPETIAN

The party, which is the part of coalition perhaps for the first time in the history of the Republic of Armenia, declared yesterday condemning the attack against the opposition party. Perhaps the reason is that the leader of "New Times" party was a former Dashnaktsakan or the parliamentary electoral campaign. Anyway the ARF GB of Armenia declared yesterday: " Various ways of thinking, the freedom of the speech and demonstrations are invariable values. Unfortunately we are the witnesses of it for the following time in Sevan. ARF considers it as an instigation against the political authority of the country."

WHATEVER THEY MAY SAY

The official actions round the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide are very important. A horrific crime happened towards the Armenian people consequently towards the humanity at the beginning of the 20th century, which must be condemned strongly. But in the name of justice we must notice that not all state officials of Armenia have moral right to make sorrowful and strong speeches about genocide.
We wrote about the illegalities in the Buzand street one of the preceding issues of "Aravot". Let's remind what it was spoken about. It isn't enough that the houses are marked by the state too cheap the officials of Obligatory Fulfillment of Court Acts fulfil their duties with a rude way pushing and attacking women who try to protect their flats and dignity. It isn't accidental that some of the victims named it as genocide. And now, how to believe in the sincerity of the Armenian officials of these sphere who are responsible for those events. Who mourn for the victims and evicted people of the Armenian genocide 90 years ago but forget those who were deprived of their houses by the "help" of their officials. It is not true. We don't believe.
About another occurrence which is worth to mention. The editorship get periodically complaint-letters by our state from the representatives of "non-roof", small and middle business, who tells awful things about the willfulness of various checking, controlling, licensing structures. Unfortunately those businessmen don't want to be found out: "We'll be deprived of our low earnings,"- they say and they are right. But a lot of statesmen like to sit in front of camera and express clever thoughts that just the development of small and big business is the guarantee of the economical prosperity of the country, security and safety. And now how to describe the occurrence that the wide section of the population is deprived of the opportunity to earn. Must we believe in the sorrowful speeches of those who deprive people? It is impossible to believe, as everybody knows: these will make strong speeches and tomorrow will go to misappropriate the following million or to ignore the rights of the population.
