PLEASANT PASTIME

The mayor of Gyumri city Vardan Ghukasian being drunk visited the "Oasis" cafe which belonged to his brother where he shot by his pistol for several times. Fortunately nobody suffered, only the glasses of the cafe were broken. According to our information materials are being prepared in the Prosecutory of Gyumri
for examining the incident.

A SPECIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The PM Andranik Margarian instead of Robert Kocharian will present the Armenian delegation in the 60th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly in the middle of coming September. The Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian will accompany him and make a speech in the session. Vardan Oskanian informed the journalists about it during the press interview in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday. And why won't the RA President lead the Armenian delegation in the highest anniversary session of that international highest instance? Robert Kocharian was leading the last UN 59th session, wasn't he? V. Oskanian gave rather "substantial" answer to that question; it was expedient in that way. The Foreign Minister could also answer, "we do what we want". In case of deficiency of official elucidation on this problem we must satisfy with our own suppositions. Maybe it wasn't expedient just for the UN the presence of the RA President in the coming session.
On the last Kocharian-Aliev meeting. Certainly nothing new was said on this theme. "We reaffirm our positive remark, which refers to the Kazan meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan. Anyway the negotiations pass in right way and the last meeting of the Presidents gives the opportunity for the Foreign Ministers of both countries to deepen their work,"- Vardan Oskanian simply mentioned.
As it was expected there were also questions about the famous incident happened to the son of the Minister lately. In particularly; 'how are you going to be responsible for the incident about what you have declared." V. Oskanian answered that he wouldn't allow his son to do such a thing any more. V. Oskanian admitted that he was rebuked by the President for the incident but after it everything passed transparently and publicly what he considers quite normal.
