WILL THE MINISTER APOLOGIZE?

30-50 demonstrators gathered yesterday in front of the building of ARF General body of Armenia demanding the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Aghvan Vardanian to apologize. They were indignant at Aghvan Vardanian's expression by which he named the citizens who don't want to get social cards " a not big group of sick people". Some participants of the protesting action were allowed to enter the building. The member of ARF General Body, the editor-in-chief of "Erkir" weekly Spartak Seiranian declared the demands of the participants of the protesting action would be discussed in the sitting
of ARF General body.

The president of the industrialists' and businessmen's society of Turkey and the supporter of Armenian-Turkish relations Mr. Soyak who visited Yerevan a day or two ago sent to the Armenian people with the help of journalists the regards of the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey. He even expressed readiness to organize a dialogue on Armenian-Turkish relations in Turkey and invite the ARF representatives. Mr. Soyak even pronounced the word "Genocide" without traditional Turkish "so called". Everything would be excellent if at the same time Turkish TRT-2 TV company didn't cite with pleasure another Turkish businessman, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce in Ankara Sinan Aygu who had asked the head of Armenian Youth Party Sargis Asatrian if he agreed that the Armenian slaughter had been realized in Turkey in 1915. To what Asatrian answered that the Armenians had already forgotten about the Genocide. As "Aravot" has already written Sargis Asatrian has refused that affirmation.
But the matter isn't that who and what said in this concrete case. The matter is that when the above mentioned Mr. Soyak return to Turkey and give an interview to one of Turkish TV companies where he will cite an opinion pleasant to the Turkish ear which he has heard in Yerevan. It is worth to remember Homer here: afraid of danayas who bring gifts. Each kind of "dialogue" initiated by Turks on Armenian- Turkish relations is started for only one purpose: to demonstrate in all over the world that the Armenians have really forgotten the Genocide and are ready to forgive it for the remoteness of the events. So the Turks will continue visiting Armenia and invite Armenians to their country to speak on forgetting the past and looking at the future. Nowadays declining the question of Armenian Genocide from the agenda is as cardinal as it was necessary to wipe Armenians off the face of the earth 90 years ago. This is the state policy of Turkey, which is realized purposefully. We offer to our officials who admit our state position on recognizing the Genocide not to express phrases, which may be interpreted incorrectly or out of the context. Let them learn it from Turks. They will never say any unnecessary thing either visiting our country or in Turkey.
