THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE JUDGE

In spite of complaints of the inhabitants 30 years old trees in Komitas 16 are being rooted for building the current serving establishment. According to the member of "Republic" party's city soviet Aramazd Zakarian the real owner of the future establishment is the judge of first instance of Arabkir and Kanaker- Zeitun court though the documents are drawn up by his sister's name.

DO THEY REALLY WANT DEMOCRACY?

Everything is relatively in this relative world. One of the approvals of this is that a draft, which demands stopping Russian membership into "great eight countries", was taken into discussion in the U.S. Senate on Friday. The Senators demanded Bush to stop the membership of Russia since Russia "hasn't performed its confidence to the main principles of democratic ruling." The U.S. President expressed in the same way: "As a European country the Government of Russia must restore its confidence towards democracy and rule of law. We admit the reforms aren't realized during one night. At the same time we must remind Russia that our alliance based on free press, active opposition and rule of law. Both the USA and all European countries must make democratic reforms the main core of dialogue with Russia,"-the U.S. president said.
If we compare with Armenian criteria of democracy Russia doesn't yield the USA at all. In comparison with Armenia Russia has free press, the ordered division of authority branches, the greater respect towards the law and more active opposition. So we can't understand why the U.S. leadership are so concentrated to Russia when the same Americans treat with favor the Georgians and Ukrainians which aren't perfect in democracy and rule of law.
It is a serious problem to understand what is democratic in the world and what is not as the teachers are too much who fight against each other. The Europeans against the Americans, the Americans against Russians, each of them form the most unexpected alliance. And we begin suspecting that they fight for world domination under slogans of democracy. And everybody misses those times when everything was worse but also understandable: there was hungry, aggressive and communistic "Soviet" and with satellites to which the free and prosperous West opposed. Or was it also relatively?
