AMIABLE "WAR"

The Public Prosecutor Aghvan Hovsepian participated in the grand opening of the new building complex of Courts of Appeal and Economy. He and the Minister of Justice David Haroutiunian had a talk warmly with each other and shared their impressions on Minas Avetisian's frescoes, which decorate this building. Though they smiled widely to each other it is known that these officials, putting it mildly, criticize the activities of each other.

"TRANSPARENT" COURT

When the Minister of Justice of our country admits himself that we haven't succeeded yet in forming judicial free and trustworthy system what will say common citizens who have to contact with that system. They have more substantial reasons than David Haroutiunian has to suspect that the United Court of Appeal engaged in civil, military and criminal cases and the Economic Court of Armenia built by the World bank funds will be fairer in new building conditions. In our days well-equipped conditions don't induce to honesty and incorruptibility at all, most probably to the just opposite. By the way the TV program "My right" of H1 TV channel which aims to increase people's knowledge in juridical sphere. The phenomenon of this program is that there are persons among our citizens who agree to solve their pleadings in front of cameras. And the decree of the judge is definitive and doesn't subject to appeal. It is strange but people agree with this condition.
It is interesting that our people don't like to publish their personal problems. It seems it is easier to solve problems behind close doors of the court. There aren't cameras there. But the matter is that the free judge can decree irrespective of everything. Nobody denies that our nation needs in juridical knowledge. But there is a question who does need in that knowledge when there isn't any proper place to protect rights than the TV studio is? In reality only in that TV show the Judge decree according to the law without taking bribe. We will never watch in TV how our so-called free Judge decrees in connection with the suit of "A1+". It's a pity, it would be rather amusing show. So comfortable and soft armchairs and light rooms with heating aren't enough for our Juridical bodies to be more independent and professional. For not loosing their conscience they must create TV channels out of the authority control which will elucidate impartially the suit. Just in this way our judicial system will become as the democratic criteria demands. But the whole misfortune is that Amalian won't give a licence for such a TV channel.
