THE REVOLUTION ISN'T A SUBJECT OF JOKE

THE TRIAL OF "HAYRENIK" WILL TAKE PLACE IN MARCH

IT DOESN'T SMELL LIKE PETROLEUM

IT IS SPOKEN ABOUT UNSUCCESSFUL VISITS AFTER ALL

It was informed for several times during the whole visit of the NA chairman to Austria that Arthur Baghdasarian was presented an ambulance car. The ceremony of presenting the ambulance car took place in the city hall of Vienna yesterday. The NA chairman taking the keys of the car thanked for the important and useful gift and said that the car would be sent to one of the hospitals
of Armenia's province.

THEY AFRAID
OF TURKEY'S DISCONTENT

According to the U.S. Armenian National committee the U.S. Ambassador in Armenia John Evance during his meeting with the Armenian community of San Francisco on 19 February eventually pronounced the desired "Genocide" word deserving by the storm of applause. The same source informs that Evance has even declared that he has consulted with the advocate of state department who has affirmed that what happened to the Armenians in 1915 was "genocide in essence". But Evance has also declared though things must be called by their proper names but the U.S. official policy hasn't been changed as the traditional relations with Turkey still exist round NATO, especially in military sphere. This means that however Evance or some U.S. Congressmen try to call things by their proper names the official recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the USA is the case of remote future. And it is possible that the Bundestag of Germany will not want to affirm the proposal of the German Christian-Democratic and Christian-Socialistic Union to raise a monument perpetuating the memory of victims of the Armenian Genocide. It is much possible that the incident of 2000 will be repeated. When 6000 Armenians of Germany produced a declaration calling to recognize the Armenian Genocide but the case was refused in a year not to affect on German-Turkish diplomatic relations.
It isn't worth to be glad that the world will awaken on the occasion of the 90 anniversary of the Genocide and will begin breaking off diplomatic relations with Turkey. Perhaps representatives of different countries will pronounce the words as the U.S. Ambassador in Armenia Evance pronounced. But it isn't comforting. And more, it's offensive when they say we know that the Genocide happened but we don't want to recognize not to break off our relations with Turkey. And there is no point to speak about breaking off the U.S. relations with Armenia. But it will be better for us to be taken into consideration. If not today, at least in 10 years on the occasion of 100th anniversary of the Genocide. If we don't manage to become really an independent country respecting our nation and ourselves and not be considered as the outpost of a country what respect can we expect from other countries?
