TER-PETROSIAN IS 60 YEARS OLD

On the 9th of January the RA first president became 60 years of age. Wishing to him happy birthday "Aravot" has prepared to publications.

THE ADVANTAGE OF POVERTY

We must record that the "fate of the Armenian" left us out when the disaster of world scale in the South-Eastern Asia took away the lives of almost all citizens of the world countries. As there weren't any Armenian among the Germans, Englishmen, Americans, and Swedes and even Russians in the first-class resorts of Thailand. Our compatriots don't take a rest in Thailand. Common Germans, Englishmen, Americans, Swedes and Russians can afford to be on holiday in that country but the middle level of Armenian society can't afford such kind of pleasure. The latter's culmination is Antalia. And those few wealthy people who can afford to spend their holidays in every place of the world prefer the restaurants of Monmartre or casinos of Las Vegas to seaside. The reason is that they are only beginners or rather "have become rich lately" and haven't had time to enjoy from what "the new Russians" have even got tired.
So the status of the citizen of poor and developing countries is often more profitable. The poor always succeed in such kind of cases: you stay at home as can't afford to go anywhere. On the other hand the poverty often lead our compatriots out of the country not to the resorts but to earn theirs living. For example to Moscow, Beslan, the Northern Europe where is hurricane now, to the USA which is threatened by Ben Laden. And if our authorities could raise the standard of living and prevent people from going abroad for making theirs bread then it would be the best way of preventing our compatriots from international terrorism and global climatic cataclysms.
The part of issue our authorities realize excellently: take care of the majority of the people not to become rich and leave for resorts like Thailand. But at the same time the authorities don't give the opportunity to the people to make both ends meet. Yes, the number of Armenians is too limited but their number rises in those countries where the citizens can afford to spend holidays in Thailand, which isn't secured from disasters.
