HAVE YOU SEEN THE
ELEPHANT OF INDIA?

An action of protest took place in Bangalor City of India on Sunday for defending Veda elephant the authorities promised to send it to Armenia in February. A lot of people especially children took part in protesting demonstration of "People in favor of animals" public organization. The animal that adapted to the hot and wet climate of Bangalor won't bear the cold winter of Yerevan. The former Prime Minister of India Atal Behari Vajpai has promised to present Veda elephant to the zoo of Yerevan during his last year visit to Armenia.

WHO, FROM WHERE AND HOW

How we demand but our candidates of presidents prefer not to advertise the sums they spent on the elections. Instead Yanukovich and Yushchenko promulgated the sums they spent on the elections and an interesting scene was showed as a result. Thus Viktor Yushchenko spent $ 3.1 million and his opponent Viktor Yanukovich spent $ 2.66 million during the presidential elections of the Ukraine. It is notable that the whole electoral campaign of Yushchenko was financed by free-will payments of some physical persons. The most part of resources /$ 1.58 million/ got from the Party of Regions led by him, which nominated him for elections. Besides the candidate received $1.49 million as voluntary payments by some physical persons. The main part of their resources the candidates spent on the agitation in mass media. Yushchenko spent the 80.8% of his fond, Yanukovich spent 66.9%. The most interesting thing is that Yanukovich paid for the rent and other expenses 5 times more expensive /11.3 % of his resources/.
It is difficult to imagine that the president of Armenia or the Prime Minister spent their own resources for renting placements during electing campaign. At any case there aren't any official confirmations. It will be more fantastic the supposition that our authorities like Yanukovich paid to mass media for realizing the agitation. No, of course, our candidates of the authority also spend some money not less than the expenses of the Ukrainian presidential candidates. But our candidates don't waste their money on those minor things as renting placements, agitation by mass media are. These are free of charge for the candidates of the authority. The latter spend their resources on other purposes: for bribing the members of electoral commissions to close their eyes on different illegalities. They also need in large expenses for bribing the voters. In favor of justice we must say that they don't take that resources from the budget but from the free-willed payments of physical persons. But the same voluntary sponsors are exclusively wealthy people who put money in foundations of the candidates for getting certain dividends. What they get as a rule. What about the common voters nobody will give his hard-earned money to the fond of the authority candidate or party. Such things don't happen in the countries of low standard of living and civil way of thinking like Armenia is. It's a pity, if our presidents were elected by resources of common voters and not oligarchs the presidents wouldn't have to gather the same oligarchs and report that the taxes must be paid nevertheless.
