NOTHING WAS CHANGED

The Armenian delegation in PACE has made three suggestions to make some changes in Atkinson's resolution but only one was accepted. According to this "technical" change the obligation of our country towards PACE is repeated if Armenia must use its influence on NK to achieve the peaceful settlement of the conflict. But two important suggestions were failed. One of them which suggested to replace "separatists" expression with "independents" got only 23 votes for and 77 votes against. And another by which it was suggested to "the Government of Azerbaijan to establish relations with two political representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh region on the occasion of its future status 25 members voted for and 100 voted against.

95 YEARS OF INTOLERANCE

Friendly speaking we can't write panegyric words to the address of Yerevan Office of Public Prosecutor. Every citizen knows what kind of institution it is. But its decision to bring a criminal case against "the general expert of homosexuality" is legal. The Prosecutor has affirmed that the anti-Jewish and anti-Ezidi announcements are activities directed to suiting the national hostility /RA criminal code, 226 article, 2nd part/.
It would rather desirable the office of the Prosecutor was careful not only towards Jewish and Ezedis but also sowing hostility towards other nations. It is spoken about Azerbaijanis and Turks.
Certainly it is difficult to become accustomed to that thought that the Turks and Azeris aren't worse from us. In reality the Karabakh war wasn't against the Azerbaijanis but against those regimes of Azerbaijan that tried to remove the people of Karabakh from their historical land. But like ethic elements we are completely compatible with the Azerbaijanis. In the same way our demands aren't directed to the Turkish people but to the authorities of Turkey, which didn't want to recognize the monstrous crime of former governments.
It's clear you won't achieve national, sexual, religious and political tolerance only by law and prosecutor. The society must ripen itself to understand that
1. All nations and people are unique and the hostility on national basis is nonsense and without any prospects.
2. If a person is homosexual it is his personal deflection: the homosexual official may serve to his state with the same devotion as the official of tradition orientation.
3. If a person is a member of a sect it is his personal tragedy, let him believe in what he wants since he doesn't infringe the law.
4. If a person expresses a standpoint different from yours it doesn't mean he is corrupted, dissipated, enemy or abnormal.
I'm sure we, the Armenians will realize it in the 22nd century.
