THERE ISN'T KHODORKOVSKI
IN ARMENIA

Finally the most noisy and longest criminal case in the history of Russia was over /only the declaration of the decree lasted two weeks/. The president of the former giant "YUKOS" Michael Khodorkovski and the ex-president of the "MENATEP" company Platon Lebedev condemned to 9 years of freedom each. The court, which has made such a strong decree, decided that Khodorkovski had realized different economic crimes. But a lot of people both in Russia and in the West consider this case political and ordered. The president of the "YUKOS" promised to leave the business in the near future and carry out a policy in April. 2003. But he already at that time had powerful lobby levers in Duma, presidential personnel, and government. In other words there were all prerequisites to be not only the wealthiest man in Russia but also a person equal to the President by his political influence in 2004. Not only Khodorkovski but almost all present oligarchs were engaged in fraud and not paying taxes during the period of "wild capitalism" but they are in free. This allows to think that the scenario writers and producers of this legal proceeding are from the Kremlin. The severity of the decree means that Khodorkovski will stay in prison till 2012 so he won't take part in two presidential elections.
The scenario by which the authority solve the problems of the politicians who disturb them are the same in the former soviet territory. The target is always in the economic sphere. People mustn't be judged for criticizing the President and trying to compete with them. It is anti democratic. And the most pity thing is that the accusations are true. Khodorkovski has earned his first million in dishonest way. As other Russian, Armenian, Moldavian or Kyrgyz oligarchs. But criminal cases are brought against those who don't listen to the authorities. Perhaps that's why the Armenia oligarchs love so much the current authorities.
