DEMONSTRATION IN AKHALKALAK

The participants of the demonstration, which took place in Akhlkalak on 13 of March called to the President of Georgia Michael Sahakashvily and the Parliament of the country to recognize the Armenian Genocide, which was realized in Osmanian Turkey in 1915. The participants of the demonstration were also worried about the intention of Georgian authorities to withdraw Russian military basis from Akhalakalak. According to some sources Russian military men assisted the organization of the demonstration.

WE ARE EUROPEANS BY BEAUTY

Sometimes pleasant events happen in our lives: a student from Yerevan Lusine Tovmasian became the "vice beauty woman" of Europe in Paris one of these days. And we can be proud of that; our beauty student is the second in Europe. And this is in that case when our inclination towards European values is too disputable. But if we examine the problem in detail we'll find out that Europe didn't win in this competition of beauty at all; "true" European countries has sent to this competition not beauty blondes but their citizens with Eastern origin. And the representative of Germany by Persian nationality became the "Miss Europe". This fact may give two conclusions; either the perception of beauty has been changed in the world and nowadays brunettes are in mode or democratic European countries try to stress tactfully the equality of their citizens who have Eastern origin.
Fortunately we don't have the problem of multi-nationality in our country. Our authorities have another problem; how to become a complete European country following the principles of Asian ruling at the same time. Yes, European countries invite our girls to take part in competitions of beauty, our sportsmen are invited to European sport competitions but this is too little to be considered as European country neither geographically nor by value meaning. CoE hasn't laid down conditions of democracy and human rights instead of Lusine's participation in the competition. Only the parameters of the participant's body - height, weight are necessary for taking part in the competition. These physical parameters can be acceptable in Cuba, Northern Korea or in Byelorussia. But the problem is that these countries don't even try to perform themselves as the followers of European criteria and now we are busy in entreating to be considered Europeans.
But when Europe wants to integrate us /by some conditions/ we ask immediately to treat us with some reservations as we are a developing country. Sometimes we get angry and say that they aren't a city bureau for us. So if even we are Europeans then only by beauty women. They indeed correspond with the European criteria, which is rather positive appearance.
