MANVEL'S BOYS HAVE
BEATEN A PRIEST

According to "Aravot's" information the bodyguards of the general-mayor Manvel Grigorian has beaten lately a priest of Shoghakat church. He was so injured that didn't take part in the liturgy for two weeks. The reason of it was that the car of the priest directed on the same road on which the general's cortege was passing. The bodyguards showed him to stop the car till the general's column passed. But he continued his way not disturbing anyone. And just this "recalcitrance" became the reason of beating him. The information reached to the Catholicos who inviting Manvel Grigorian ordered to apologize to the priest. "He was in civil cloths, I didn't know that he was a priest, unless I didn't beat him,"-the General was justified.

HOW TO BE ARRESTED

The demonstrators in America often infringe the laws to attract attention of the public. For example it is forbidden to hold demonstration in the Congress building the infringers are sentenced to the administrative arrest. And some officials from the opposition wishing to attract the public attention on them hold a demonstration in the building of the Congress intending to be arrested. The policemen don't arrest them immediately but after a lot of warnings. But the demonstrators don't listen to those warnings, as how they can be hearable in a country where nobody forbids demonstrations and meetings especially doesn't disperse the gathered people. In fact they have to take an extreme step for the excess of democracy. It is in another way in our country, which is heaven in comparison with America. Our citizens who want to say something for attracting attention mustn't infringe the law. There is no need to turn to various sly ways for attracting attention. If you want to be noticed in our country it is rather to act round the laws of demonstrations and meetings and you will be noticed by all means and perhaps will be arrested. When you are succeeded and policemen with clubs act against you the public attention will be provided and for several months.
Do you feel what a fine country we live what unlimited opportunities our opposition has for attracting attention? And without taking serious steps. Those against whom demonstrations are organized do the all. It is simply a royal gift. Another gift is expected soon, the NA is going to make amendments in the law "About the order of meetings, demonstrations and processions". And if it is adopted the opposition will have great opportunities. As the opposition will follow that law leaving to the authorities the difficulty of infringing it.
