BUSH WILL BE HERE

The U.S. President George Bush will make a speech in the square of Freedom in Tbilisi at 9 o'clock in the morning on 10 of May. The three-storied iron structure has been placed in front of the building of the Municipality cost 70 thousands dollars. Before Bush's visit the Georgian authorities gave 45 thousands US Dollars for repairing the streets. Only 20 thousands Dollars was paid for placing two big posters in the center of Tbilisi one of which announces; "Welcome, deer George Bush" and another one calls to meet the U.S. President.

THE PRE-REQUEST
OF KEEPING THE LAND

As the coming holiday is "double" let's try to compare the attitudes of the society towards the Great Patriotic and Artsakh wars. Perhaps the readers of average age will remember that the "official approach" towards the Patriotic war was rather different from the national approach. What our fathers and grandfathers were telling was different from the "communistic propaganda". But the whole people's attitude towards the veterans of the war was the same as it was impossible to meet an impudent veteran in the everyday life who used violence on people.
The Artsakh war ended in the conditions of market relations. Perhaps the reason is the enormous distance between the overwhelming majority of the war and its little minority. Those who has occupied Artsakh but remained without high posts go everywhere /they even come to the editorial office of "Aravot"/. Those who have fight sincerely in Karabakh and have become generals have a role of real Asian feudal in their regions. Those oligarch-generals can take off stalls from small businessmen, cut a forest illegally for their own business. They can also hire day labors and don't pay them. They have "right" to beat persons unpleasant to them and exile them. Those as well as other "civil" oligarchs' impudent bodyguards also have the right to humble people. Those military feudal have appeared since 1994, they have got economic and political levels "officially after 1998 and now they have become an evil for the population of that region.
All these, of course, don't humble the victories of our peoples in the Artsakh war. Those victories in case of getting final political formulation can become breaking in the history of Armenia, from crying to pride, from a paper ladle to an iron one. And nowadays the youth can be oriented truly. We don't trust in the youth of tomorrow, the world is changed, the values are reconceived. If we want the future generation to enjoy the achievements of the Artsakh war we must try to create a modern European state. Otherwise the belief, which rose people in 1988 won't be. And if there is no belief, we'll loose the land, too. The land, which was acquired by blood.
