THEY WORKED IN FAVOR
OF THE HOMELAND

According to our sources the special detachments of the RA Police rushed into "Elen Alen" discotheque at Abovian street where prostitutes also gathered among the "usual" visitors and took all them to the city department without any reason or sanction. According to our information it was done to "serve" delegations of the CIC Ministries of Internal Affairs, which are in Yerevan.

JHANGIRIAN WILL BE SUMMONED TO "DISTRICT COMMITTEE" /RAYCOM/

There is such a memory among various nostalgic memories; "Is it in that way under communists' rule. If a critical article was written the ruler of that criticized establishment was summoned to the district committee, was strictly rebuked, and if the accusations were serious he put the party -membership card on the table." I wasn't journalist in Communists' time but I believe that it happened in that way. Simply a "detail" is out of those memories; before publishing a critical material it was submitted to the approval of "raycom". So the important was "raycom" in this history of establishing justice and not the newspaper.
Consequently in case of relative freedom of the printed press it isn't serious to expect that all published materials will be replied. For example if Arshak Sadoyan declares in our newspaper that Hrant Bagratian was having his breakfast by mazut, it isn't compulsory for the former Prime Minister to go to the editorial office and prove that he doesn't eat mazut.
But there are accusations, which must be answered at any case. For example one of the mothers of defendants on the case of murder of soldiers Julietta Sargsian was telling of the "methods" /"Aravot", 28.09.2005/ of holding investigation of investigators of special importance at the military prosecutory A. Hakobian and S. Tonoyan and the official of military police V. Khachatrian. Such methods in comparison with which the "bravery" of American soldiers in Iraqi prisons or Gvantanama military base grow dim. Mss. Julieta was speaking of inhuman violence, threatens about rape by clubs, they lashed their kidneys so many times that they were urinating blood. And when charwoman came to clean the blood the investigator didn't allow her saying let him clean it with his tongue. If those awful stories are true those sadist investigators must be isolated from the public. But if it is slander then the mother of defendant must be sentenced to responsibility. But the journalists aren't allowed to elucidate this problem.
Court comes to replace "raycom" in democratic countries. And it isn't accidental that in most soviet films it is over during the party meeting /and justice prevails/. The same happens during the court process in American films. But the party meeting doesn't exist any more /thank God/ but the Court as a body of justice doesn't exist yet. There are only officials of military prosecutory with their short answers.
