WHOM ELSE THE PRIME MINISTER GIFTED A WEAPON
| BREJNEV-2 Yesterday the ruling clique of Armenia adopted the package of Constitutional amendments and the delegate of its tsar Vladimir Rushailo.
FOUR FACTORS OF TENSION The worsening situation over Javakhq connects with four factors. Georgian factor ; whatever Tbilisi says the problems in Javakhq aren’t only social or common but also national and political and those problems are through the fault of the current and former Georgian Government. Consequently the complaints and demands of Armenians in Javakhq are to the point. Russian factor ; we used to think that the energization of Armenians in Javakhq is the slander of Moscow. Certainly we can suppose that Russia has done something before withdrawing its military forces. But now the processes are out of the control of Moscow. And that intention will deepen. I’m inclined to think that Russia will withdraw its forces from Armenia too, after 10-15 years. But not for somebody’s demand but “voluntarily” for economic irrelevance and not having political interests. Western factor ; the interest of West in this region is pragmatic; it is the work of oil, gas and transport communications. The rights of Armenians in Javakhq have secondary meaning. It is obvious that Armenia is the only country in the region, which has problems with its three neighbors, and the above-mentioned communications won't pass through Armenia but they will pass through Javakhq. The West won't allow three things; a/ for the war not starting in this region, b/ for the population remains hungry here, c/ for not establishing unforeseen despotic regimes. The remain at our discretion. Why do you think that the West will beg us or Azeris to solve the Karabakh problem or to become democratic countries? Armenian factor ; The Armenians of Javakhq are like agents of Russian influence. Georgians don’t see any objective ground to satisfy their political demands / demands of autonomy/. The West isn’t going to take those demands into consideration in those global projects. Armenia having its own serious problems will hardly involve in those problems. Besides the role of our country in that region is rather modest. We have all chances to become an «appendix» in the near 10 years which isn't allowed to play in great games. There are Paragway and Bolivia in the world map, aren't they? But those countries don't solve any problem even on Latin-American political scale. Aram Abrahamian |
