A PRISE TO ELITE GROUP

“Mercury” annual award organized by Industrial Chamber of Trade was held in “Moscow” theatre yesterday. Prime Minister Andranik Margarian awarded businessmen and industrials, “Elite Group” company as well.

POLITICAL REMARKS FOR THE ‘SUDDEN’ SNOW

Hamlet Abrahamian, the secretary of Central Electoral Commission, ARF representative, in answer to the accusation that some parties give electoral bribes as benevolence, said: “Would it be bad when a party clean this snow up?”  “Aravot” suggested the ARF to do it themselves but Mr. Abrahamian objected that they didn’t have so many members. ARF another member, Alvard Petrosian cast doubt Ervand Zakharian’s announcement as if works about 72 million have been realized in 2006. “Looking at the streets in the snow I don’t think that they have succeeded in their work”,- Alvard Petrosian said.

WHAT WE CAN DO?

The official of district’s office came to our home yesterday to take the annual fee for scavenging. It’s interesting has he passed near the streets full of rubbish. Perhaps he has passed because in answer to my question he advised me to raise that question with the help of press. Though I have already raised the question have scavenge on Hambardzumian Street where I live for eight times. It’s all the same to write it for the ninth time, Arabkir’s district office doesn’t worry about it. But contrary to my neighbors, I paid that fee thinking that the situation will not become better.
My friends who left Armenia during these 16 years always ask me “when will the situation become better for us to return?” When I ask why don’t you want to try to improve the situation, they always answer, “What can we do?” The most surprising thing is that those who live in Armenia also think in that way. For example, businessmen avoid of paying taxes with the following reason: “If I knew my paid taxes would be given to poor pensioners, teachers, doctors, I’d pay. But it’s all the same, the ruling clique will take that money, it’s a pity”. The businessman doesn’t understand that he deprives the pensioners of more pensions.
Or when you ask a driver why does he drive out of order, he usually answers: “Can I drive with order in this city? If everybody drives by order, I’ll also do.
The same refers to the waste-bins, if everybody throws the rubbish into waste-bins, no scavenge will remain on the streets. If you indeed want the situation of the country to be improved you shouldn’t go out the streets with the brooms, instead you should clean up your quarter meter, allegorically of course.
Here, such New Year thoughts. Happy New Year.
