THE REASON OF “BAD STEPS”

“We have serious activities in the Caucasus, in particular in Azerbaijan and in Armenia as well, for those countries to meet the democratic standards they have had before”. As the official site of the U.S. Department of State informs, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice expressed such opinion addressing to the leaders of “Peace Corps» organization. She also expressed an opinion that the NK conflict is the main preventing factor for Armenia’s and Azerbaijan’s development. “The political leaders take not so positive, “bad steps” because of the situation round NK and justify their steps by the existence of those steps. I often tell them that if the NK conflict is not settled, those countries will yield their neighbors since the region continues to develop”, - the U.S, Secretary of State said.
Undoubtedly the Armenian and Azeri “nationalists” will not like this announcement, and they will circulate postulates about “Washington’s recurrent intervention”, “Export of American democracy”. We should admit that Mrs. Rice’s announcement will remain actual.
And more, the U.S. Secretary of State approached to the NK conflict not with geopolitical standards but gave very simple remark very close to common people. The problem of human rights is the core problem.
Those who complain ageist the elections in Armenia or Azerbaijan are accused of “slander”, “betrayal”. Rice’s noted “bad steps” are followed those accusations.
