“THE ART OF POSSIBLE”

Envoy of the Embassy of Georgia in Armenia Georgy Saganelidze declared during his meeting with the journalists that Georgia calls to Armenia to be more constructive during the voting of the upcoming sitting of the UN General Assembly. We would like to remind that the resolution “On the status of people exiled by force as a result of Georgian-Abkhazian conflict”. We have an apprehension that Armenia may share Russia’s position in Abkhazia conflict and vote against the resolution becoming the only adherent of the aggressor”, - Georgy Saganelidze said. In his words Georgia tries to establish good partnership relations with all its neighbors not making them adopt the Georgian position.

Political-journalistic groups of Armenia didn’t like Saganelidze’s declaration. We would like to remind that Georgia was among those countries which voted for Azerbaijan’s propose resolution regarding NK conflict. Mr. Saganelidze interpreted that voting in the following way: “Georgia has no right to struggle for its territorial integrity not supporting the territorial integrity of other states”.

We should hope that this fact will not exert an influence on the relations of both countries. In this case it is better not to forget that the policy is the art of possible. Georgia does its best to achieve its goals within the framework of the “art of possible” principle not having any attention to damage Armenia. If Armenia votes against that resolution by Moscow’s dictation will it also be considered as the “art of possible”? I am suspicious of it.

A NEW “CASINO” IN GYUMRI

Ashot Zakaryan, Shota Saghatelyan and Petros Makeyan stood trial again. But the trial was delaying since people who wanted to be presented in the trial were demanding to hold it in a big hall. But Vahe Khalatyan, the judge, was trying to refuse them saying that the big hall was not available. At the same time our photo camera shot policemen who were playing cards in the big hall.

WHO WILL CONDUCT “INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATION?”

The working group formed by the RA President’s initiatives should examine both the proposals of the PACE 1609 resolution and coordinate those proposals’ implementation. Last Sunday the coalition made the recurrent announcement where it considered the activities of the working group very important. There was a sentence in the announcement which can be interpreted in different ways: “The political coalition expects from the working group certain steps for the implementation of the resolution’s proposals and independent investigation of the post-electoral developments.”

“Aravot” tried to find out from ARF GB representative, member of the working group Armen Rustamyan whether the working group has a certain status, if no, how it will implement the independent investigation of the post electoral developments. In Mr. Rustamyan’s opinion “it considers a civil control over the whole process which happened after March 1, there have been arrests, imprisonments, trials, a civil control should be conducted over all of that first of all, and then the main problems regarding March 1 should be examined. Let’s remember that it is noted in the PACE resolution that the activities of both parties should be examined: demonstrators and police. A relevant examination should be conducted on this ...
